Success at our Comedy Night & Silent Auction

Ortona's first 2010 member's social night went outside the bubble for comedy fun and friendly bidding wars on some very excellent donations. Funds raised over 6k!

Laughs were heard from the mall entrance at the WEM. Ortona parents and friends had an evening of smiles as they generously gave funds to purchase the outstanding donations that were collected over the last 5 months. Thursday January 14 will be remembered as a happy time and for the hard work our committee members accomplished - Gabe, Rachel and Amy - outstanding!!

There were supporters of Ortona that had been working on this since June 2009, without this focus and effort it would have seen a different outcome. We pulled together forgot about the challenges we have faced this past year and turned our frowns into smiles. It reminded us that we can pull together as a group and succeed.

Many thanks go out to all the donations received from a variety of businesses, families and staff. Of course, it is without saying those that were daring to be the high bidder did so with a smile on their face - Ortona benefited - much appreciated!!!

Ortona staff want to express a big thank you and wish this positive momentum is an indication of our upcoming 2010 year.
