Teacher's away – kids can play!

Dear Teaching Professional,
Events like the annual Teacher's Convention are an important part of professional development for teachers and support staff. Of course the kids love the two P.D. days (parent detention days as our kids call it) that they get. But what do you do with your own children?

Kids Can Play – a special two day program is available for children of teaching professionals at Ortona Gymnastics Club. Drop your child off before the convention, programming includes gymnastics instruction (age/ability appropriate), free play time that we call Open Gym, crafts, games and activities. While you're at the convention, your children are moving, creating and having a whole lot of fun.

To register, phone 780-466-FLIP (3547). Cost is $35/day or $65 for the full two days.

Each participant is required to provide a complete a registration/waiver form. Download waiver and registration form here

Participants will need to pack a lunch and two snacks (nut free please). Clothing needs to be appropriate for physical activity, nothing loose or binding, loose hair tied back, no jewellery. Bare feet during gym instruction and play; socks/slippers can be packed for the other activities. The attached waiver must be completed and brought with you at drop-off.

Drop off time is from 7:45-8:15 to give you enough time to get to the Shaw Centre. Pickup time is 4:15 to 4:45pm.

Option: Southgate Shopping Mall/LRT station is about a 5-8 minute drive from Ortona. You can park there and take the LRT to the Shaw Centre and avoid the downtown parking headache.
