Ortona Specialty Camps

Camps for Kids

Who are the Campers? Any child interested in some fun and sport combined. No gymnastics experience is required. Children will be put in groups based on age and ability. Activities will include gymnastics, arts & crafts, playtime, games and more. Week long programs feature themes and themed days for extra fun and interest.

SPRING CAMPS
PreSchool Age 3 to 6: Half Day Morning Camps - Single Day (Select days that work for you). Children will be participate in gymnastics activities and games to experience different apparatuses throughout the course of the morning.

PreSchool Age 3 to 6: Half Day Morning Camp - Full Week. For children that want to experience gymnastics every day - lots of different activities to keep the kids wanting to come back each day.

Age 6 to 15: Half Day, Single Day and All Week Camps.


SUMMER CAMPS

FULL DAY CAMPS (AGES 6-15)

  • Camps will run from July 5th – August 27th (8 weeks)
  • All camps run weekly from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
  • Early drop-off at 8:30 am can be arranged for a weekly fee of $40.00. (Payable at the first day of camp.)
  • There will be a $10.00 late pick up charge for every ½ hour after 5:00pm.
  • No gymnastics experience is required. Children will be put in groups based on age and ability
  • Lunch is not included in camp fees. There is a refrigerator and microwave if required
  • Membership fees are not included and must be paid at time of registration. The Alberta Gymnastics Federation membership is valid from July 1, 2010 – June 30, 2011 and is transferable to any gymnastics club in Alberta.
  • Camp fees must be paid in full at time of registration (refer to FAQ- Payment Policies for more details
  • Afternoon field trips and activities may include: swimming, mini-golf, bowling, Valley Zoo, street performers, picnics, water fights, movies and much more

All campers are required to have:

  • a lunch
  • a snack
  • a water bottle
  • hat
  • sunscreen
  • comfortable walking shoes
  • and appropriate clothing for the morning and field trips

Typical Itinerary
09:00    Warm-up Games and Stretch
09:30    Gymnastics Circuit 1 & 2
10:30    Snack Break
10:45    Gymnastics Circuit 3 & 4
11:45    Cool Down Activities
12:00    Lunch
12:30    Begin Activity or Board Bus for Fieldtrip
1:00-1:30 Arrive at Fieldtrip Destination for the Afternoon
4:00-4:30 Arrive Back to Gym
4:30-5:00 Pick-Up at Gym

Activities are based on themes selected for that week.
Week 1 - Theatre Extravaganza
Week 2 - Music and Movement
Week 3 - Outdoor Adventure
Week 4 - Animal Planet
Week 5 - Extreme Sports
Week 6 - Music and Movement
Week 7 - Carnival Craze
Week 8 - Mad Science

A more detailed list of activities and field trips will be handed out on the first day of camp.
Field trips are based on the number of kids registered and the weather expected that week.

Friday is always Pyjamas Day at Ortona for Preschool Campers. Children are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal and their PJ’s.

TRAMPOLINE AND TUMBLING (AGES 7+)
  • Camps will run from July 5th – August 27th (8 weeks)
  • All camps run weekly from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.
  • Early drop-off at 8:30 am can be arranged for a weekly fee of $40.00. (Payable at the first day of camp.)
  • There will be a $10.00 late pick up charge for every ½ hour after 12:00pm.
  • No gymnastics experience is required. Children will be put in groups based on age and ability
  • Children will be working on CANJUMP levels throughout the summer.
  • Membership fees are not included and must be paid at time of registration. The Alberta Gymnastics Federation membership is valid from July 1, 2010 – June 30, 2011 and is transferable to any gymnastics club in Alberta.

  • Children may join full day camps at a total cost of a full week camp.
