Kindergym Leapah's World of Wonderment Programs

World of Wonderment Programs Ages 3 Months to 5 Years)
Our WOW Programs
Gymnastics is an ideal activity for preschoolers. It is an excellent physical activity to develop gross motor skills, spatial awareness, coordination, strength, power, flexibility, musical awareness and creativity. Gymnastics is also a fun-filled, non-contact activity through which children can develop self-confidence, experience a wide variety of challenges and opportunity for social interaction. We utilize both our large main gym as well as our unique, colorful preschool gym - the Tot Kingdom.
Gymnastics helps develop physical literacy in children. The development of these physical tools are needed to take part in activity and sport, both for healthy life-long enjoyment and for sporting success. You’re never too young to gain something positive from the sport of gymnastics.
Babynastics
A specialized program for babies 3 months to 18 months. Every experience your baby has from the earliest weeks on stimulates his or her senses and helps in developing their amazing brain. The Babynastics program here at Ortona takes their exploration of the world one step further by integrating no only some of the equipment that we have here such as trampoline and parachute, but also by using simple equipment most people have at home like blankets, bubbles and balls!
Simple songs, finger play, and action poems are done throughout the class encouraging smiles and giggles. The class focuses on increasing your little ones gross motor skills, hand-eye co-ordination, attention span and self confidence all while having FUN within a safe friendly environment! And who better to experience this with than you.

KinderGym Trampoline and Tumbling
Ortona is proud to offer a new trampoline and tumbling program specifically designed to meet the needs of younger athletes. It will be following the theme weeks that all other kinder gym classes follow but the content will have a very strong trampoline component. They will work on more advanced trampoline moves as well as spending more time mastering the tumbling basics. This class is for athletes aged 4 and 5 with some recreational gymnastics. They should love to bounce on trampoline and you should find them doing handstands and cartwheels all over the place. If you should have any other questions about this class then please don't hesitate to contact the office
Tuck and Rollers
This program was started in partnership with Centre for Autism Service Alberta in January 2006. The goal of this program is to provide children with Autism Spectrum Disorder with the skills necessary to participate to their fullest potential in a gymnastics class. Parents and aides attend the classes with the children to provide support as the children practice gymnastic and gross motor skills and experience a variety of sensory inputs and social interactions.
A typical class includes:
* Warm up activity (e.g. game, parachute)
* Stretch
* 2-3 structured circuits (e.g. trampoline, floor, bars, etc)
* Free time in the smaller gym (includes foam pit, trampoline)
* Stamp and/or sticker to end the class
The classes are 45-60 minutes long, depending on the age of the children in the group. During the Spring 2008 session, a school-aged group (60 minute class) was offered, as well as a preschool-aged group (45 minute class).
