Two Ortona Athletes - Top Provincial Awards

Two Ortona athletes were recognized for their top provincial placings in the 2010- 2011 season at the Alberta Gymnastics Federation Gala Awards night, held at the Oasis Centre in Edmonton, Alberta on October 22, 2011.

Plaques for Provincial Champions with the highest AA score in all age groups per level were given to:

Danika Freeman-Lau for top P3 Novice and Tateum McPherson for top P5 Open
Awards were presented by Valerie Oudin.

The Gala hosted by Kyle Shewfelt, recognized top achievements by Alberta's gymnastics community for the 2010-2011 season. Those honoured included recreational and competitive athletes from the WAG, MAG and T&T streams and coaches. It was great to see Ortona is part of a bigger picture in striving to achieve "gymnastics for all".

Thanksgiving Week

It's the Thanksgiving weekend coming up quickly and just a reminder that there are no Saturday, Sunday or Monday recreational classes.

Food Bank boxes will be in the GO Centre lobby by Ortona so please remember to bring some non-perishable food items and household items when you come for class. Let's show how committed Ortona and GO members are to our community with overflowing boxes to deliver back to the Food Bank.

Have a great week!
