KinderGym Tree Climbers (KG5) - LTAD 1

Tree Climbers is the first level in our advanced KinderGym programs for boys and girls.  This is a Coach invitational program. If a coach sees that a child is ready to progress and focus on skills that other children in his or her current class are not ready to work on, the coach may recommend registering in one of our specialty classes. An invitation into the program is based on many different factors:

  • Physical ability
  • Flexibility
  • Coordination
  • Listening skills
  • The ability to learn quickly

This is a 90 minute un-parented class for children aged 4 to 6 years. Tree Climbers gives those children with advanced skills the opportunity to begin working on CanGym Program, specifically badge 3 and 4 (Tan and Bronze). Athletes will receive a report card at the end of each session a badge upon completion of the level.

The program utilizes our larger main gym in addition to the preschool gym, to offer the young athletes a chance to try more advanced techniques and develop their skills even further. Two gyms means twice the fun!

Children must be given an invitation to attend this program.

Leapah’s World of Wonderment KinderGym 5
Gymnastics is an ideal activity for preschoolers. It is an excellent physical way to develop gross motor skills, spatial awareness, coordination, strength, power, flexibility, musical awareness and creativity. Gymnastics is also a fun-filled, non-contact activity through which children can develop self-confidence, experience a wide variety of challenges and opportunity for social interaction.
Gymnastics helps develop physical literacy in children. The development of these physical tools are needed to take part in activity and sport, both for healthy life-long enjoyment and for sporting success. You’re never too young to gain something positive from the sport of gymnastics.
For full details on Long Term Athlete Development refer to our website or Gymnastics Canada website. We have selected a highlight from each stage.
