Cheerleaders enhance your tumbling skills. (LTAD 8)

Great opportunity for cheerleaders to learn tumbling from certified gymnastics coaches trained in providing proper technique. It’s always important to follow safety regulations, require recognized progressions, use appropriate safety equipment, and ensure that athletes are prepared both mentally and physically for the moves they are attempting. We will provide basic tumbling to or a squad that wants to participate in the class.

Some of the skills we will teach: perform forward rolls, backward rolls, cartwheels, roundoffs, back walkovers and front walkovers; handsprings, twisting, tuck-punch depending on the current skill level of the athlete.

We will follow the Tumbling components as set out in Levels 1 through 5 in the Cheerleading Rules set out by the USAF.  Please note we will not teach cheerleading, stunts, pyramids and/or tosses just tumbling components.

Gymnastics is a fun-filled, non-contact activity through which children can develop self-confidence, experience a wide variety of challenges and opportunity for social interaction.
Gymnastics helps develop physical literacy in children. The development of these physical tools are needed to take part in activity and sport, both for healthy life-long enjoyment and for sporting success. You’re never too young to gain something positive from the sport of gymnastics.
For full details on Long Term Athlete Development refer to Gymnastics Canada website. We have selected a highlight from each stage.
